And if you’re an adult of a certain age who grew up pining for a Barbie Dreamhouse or Barbie convertible, you may be experiencing some major flashbacks. The hype surrounding the movie—plus a crazy-popular hot-pink runway collection by luxury fashion house Valentino, which worked with the color gurus at Pantone to concoct its custom fuchsia color, PP Pink—have helped kick off summer’s hottest trend: Barbiecore.
